Photographing People is a new monthly feature, that does exactly what it says on the tin - concentrates on showcasing photography featuring people. The pictures are divided into three different style categories, namely portraiture, fashion, and conceptual. These definitions are treated quite loosely though, and what ends up in which section depends on the mood and look of the piece, regardles of which DA category the work is submitted in. Every month I'll also try to bring you at least one interesting Feature of the month submission, which might be a good tutorial or an exceptionally interesting article, or even just a brilliant photograph, which deserves its own special spotlight. So, without further ado, here's your first edition of Photographing People. Enjoy!

Tutorial: portrait photography by jsmonzani is the perfect way to kick-start the Feature of the month section. It's a nice and clearly presented tutorial, with lots of tips from the personal perspective of one of DA's most-loved people photographers. It's always interesting to read how other people work, and this sort of tutorials are great for giving hints to aspiring photographers, but also for giving inspiring insights for the more experienced ones.

I hope you enjoyed this first edition of Photographing People. If you're interested in photography focusing on the human subject, look out for another edition next month.

Surprise!
Wow, I came to take a quick look around the place and was wondering about the unusually high number of new messages. But I didn't realise 'We are Family' had gotten a DD until someone's (displeased) comment alerted me to the fact. And even then it took some time for the other shoe to drop. :D In any case, thank you! For the DD and all the comments and favs. :blowkiss:

It's been a super busy summer for me, hence I haven't had much time to pop in. The wedding season has certainly taken it's toll, and it's been a bit of a wild, if enjoyable, ride. Lately I've found myself back at dA more and more though, and it has been nice t
Hellooo wtf + Rachel Yamagata + facebook + twitter
I thought it was high time to update my journal, since the last one is talking about waiting for Christmas! Yikes. Can't quite believe we're already nearly a third in to this year...
How are you all? Good I hope. I'm (still) busy, gearing towards getting even busier as my wedding photography business gains ground. I think this year is going to be a wild ride, but if I can just hold on in there, it'll be all worth it in the end... I guess no-one ever said going after your dreams was going to be easy-peasy.
Hmm, what else. Oh, saw Rachael Yamagata live last month, and she was a-ma-zing. Seriously. If you ever get a chance to see her, just do
Almost Christmas + facebook + how's it going?
I can't quite believe it's December already! What madness... I didn't even get an advent calendar in time, for the first time in my life! Years certainly seem to fly by faster and faster.
I hope you've all been fine. I've been extremely busy and battling with a viscous circle of illnesses, which has left me a bit exhausted. I can't wait for Christmas now. To have some time off in order to relax and enjoy the spirit of the season. The weather has turned colder, which is nice in a way, it's more fresh. The air is crisp and there is even sunshine to go around instead of the gloomy grey of past weeks.
I made a facebook page for my new side
The power of art + how are you?
Wow. It's been awhile! I still can't get to most sites from work, so it's really hard to keep up with dA, which sucks. I do miss this place. suzi9mm (https://www.deviantart.com/suzi9mm) was in London for a visit over the weekend and for some reason her being here made me want to come and take a peek of what's happening. Somehow her and dA go hand and in hand in my mind.
We look so matchy-matchy cute here. =P
The main reason for her visit was us going to see Antony and the Johnsons at the Barbican last Friday. What an awesome concert that was. I knew that we were in for something magical since I had already experienced being blown away by Antony and the Johnsons last year
